Keeping your eye on the goal! (Podcast Script)

Hello everyone, my name is Jason Powell and welcome to my podcast: Keeping your eye on the goal!  The basics of soccer are simple; there is one goal and only one place to reach that goal.  It seems so easy, but the problem is, there are 11 other people in the way of that goal.  A kid with the ball in the middle of the field can feel overwhelmed and feel that it would be difficult to reach that goal.  The exciting thing is that he or she is not alone.  The great thing about the game of soccer is that it takes the effort of a team to get the ball into the net and to reach that goal.
The players on a team are not enough.  These kids need guidance and direction to know where to go and how to work together.  This direction comes from parents and coaches who are willing to invest time into teaching kids how to work as a team and have fun doing it.  By your investment of a few hours a week, kids can get outside, interact with other kids, learn a fun sport known and played around the world, and get some great exercise!
There is no prior experience necessary!  Our skilled coaches and club leaders are available to help you with practice drills, set up, and coaching games.  No coach is ever left alone to teach a team.  Assistant coaches are available to help out for each team to learn the game and have fun doing it!

If you missed the sign-up day, no problem, just head over to www.mahaskasoccer.com to find contact information and to fill out a form to volunteer as a coach or assistant coach.  Working the ball towards the goal takes focus and a team effort for the team to reach the goal and we want you as a part of our team!  (Then my son Jonathan will give the “call to action” by saying) “Come join our team today!  Volunteer for the soccer club!”
